The Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 S lens for Nikon Z is an ultra wide-angle, a lens meant for landscapes, both at night and day. The frontal bulge element of the lens does not allows the use of a typical Holder – a screw-in one, such as the NiSi V6. However, thanks to the Nikon’s lens hood (or, rather, the metal NiSi lens hood with 112mm front screw thread, it is possible to use filters with a 112mm diameter.
That’s not the full story, NiSi also created a special version of the NiSi V6 for Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S, with no polariser, that makes possible to use up to x2 100mm square/rectangular filters on this ultra wide-angle lens.
As previously mentioned, the Nikon Z 14-24 f/2.8 accommodates circular filters with a 112mm diameter thanks to the Nikon HB-97 lens hood. This fundamental accessory, however, presents some flaws, the most important is the presence of a few gaps that will let the light through (defined as “light leaking”), which can potentially create significant issues for final result, especially when you’re taking a long exposure with a ND filter..
