LUMIX Design philosophy: shaping emotions

The new all-black design of the LUMIX S5IIX is made to encourage the creator to becomes immersed in capturing the subject, oblivious to the tools in use. It’s designed to harmonize with the shooting environment and prevent reflections on the iris or recording media supporting artistic creativity.

RAW video data output

The LUMIX S5IIX enables the output of RAW video data over HDMI to save it as ProRes RAW on ATOMOS NINJA V+, NINJA V and Shogun CONNECT HDR monitor-recorders.* The Blackmagic RAW can also be recorded on Video Assist 12G HDR.**

*[ProRes RAW] ･Please refer to the ATOMOS website for the information on the corresponding firmware version of ATOMOS Ninja V+, ATOMOS Ninja V or ATOMOS Shogun CONNECT. ･Software that supports ProRes RAW is required to edit RAW video recorded with ATOMOS ATOMOS Ninja V+, ATOMOS Ninja V or ATOMOS Shogun CONNECT. External USB SSD recording

With the LUMIX S5IIX, recording and playback is supported using an external SSD via USB. In addition, the ability to record ProRes 422 HQ (maximum 1.9Gbps) and 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra directly to SSDs, which combine portability and high capacity has improved efficiency in data backup and post-processing

Choose your favorite streaming approach to share your latest in real time! For outdoor use, wireless live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS) is easy to set up with the LUMIX Sync app. For indoor use, highly stable wired live streaming (RTP/RTSP) is also available.

･Live streaming to the platforms that comply with RTMP/RTMPS is basically possible (Compatibility with all the platforms is not guaranteed.) There may be the cases where the live streaming is not possible when the service of the platform changes. For more information, please refer to the terms and conditions of the platform. ･Since the transmission speed of live streaming varies depending on the Internet environment, smartphone performance, etc., we recommend that you conduct a transmission test in advance. ･A commercially available USB ethernet adaptor is required to convert the DC-S5IIX's USB Type C terminal to a LAN terminal. Great for shooting as you walk: Active I.S. Technology

New Active I.S. lets you walk and shoot at the same time. By determining the status of camera shake and optimizing correction ratios, Active I.S. can compensate for even significant camera shake, approximately 200%* more than conventional systems.

Heat management for unlimited recording time

4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p unlimited recording time.* With a compact body equivalent to the S5, the LUMIX S5IIX’s new optimized heat dissipation structure enables extended recording even when shooting at heavy loads (e.g. high-resolution video over 4K, HFR video).

*The camera may stop recording when used in a temperature that is lower or higher than the recommended operating temperature (0 to 40 degrees).
Recording stops when the continuous recording time exceeds 30 minutes with the following settings; [MOV] in [6K/29.97p] [6K/25.00p] [5.9K/29.97p] [5.9K/25.00p] or [ProRes] in [5.8K/29.97p] [5.8K/25.00p] [C4K/59.94p] [C4K/50.00p] when Thermal Management mode is set to Standard.
