The TA-1VP from Tascam is a vocal processor utilizing Antares' technologies (AutoTune and Mic Modeler) to deliver everything needed for a polished, modern vocal sound. The rack-mount unit includes a microphone preamp, compressor, de-esser, microphone and tube modeling, and pitch correction processing.
An XLR microphone input with switchable phantom power is available on the front panel, suitable for use with condenser microphones. Processing is laid out in simple-to-use blocks on the front panel, each with dedicated buttons and meters that display exactly what's being done to the signal at any point in the signal chain.
Antares' microphone and tube modeling can impart the character of another microphone if required, with a library of classic microphone models to choose from. A de-esser module removes sibilance from the signal before being sent on to a variable-knee compressor and gate. Digital EQ is last process in the chain before output.
The Auto-Tune module can be set for any level of pitch correction, in a variety of user-selectable scales. All settings can be recalled through presets on the front panel or through MIDI. Balanced TRS input and outputs are located on the rear panel, including a "Double Track" output for simulating doubled vocals. S/PDIF digital output is also available.
