Dependable and versatile lens
Aside from its 114° angle of view that works best for landscapes, it can also provide a near perfect 90-degree angle which is perfect to bring the focus closer for stunning portraits. Likewise, its resolving power makes it suitable for ultra-high resolution cameras that can produce 50-megapixel still images as well as 8K video.
Solid lens construction
Built with 18 lens elements arranged in 14 groups, these parts include a hybrid aspherical lens, two aspherical lenses and two extra-low dispersion lenses that minimizes chromatic aberrations and colour fringing. Likewise, the three HR lenses maintain image sharpness from the edges of the frame.
Acoustic Emission Microprocessor
The AE chip that provides confirmation for manual focus and allows direct aperture adjustments from the camera, giving you freedom in selecting the appropriate exposure mode.
Ultra-Multi-Coating
Aside from protecting the optical elements inside, the ultra-multi coating reduces flare and ghosting which ultimately improves colour accuracy despite strong light sources such as the sun. This translates to amply-lit images even though the light source is coming from the back of the subject.
Bright Aperture
Even if you are shooting under low-light settings, this lens' f/2.4 aperture can provide brightness to deliver stunning photographs. That being said, this is an ideal lens for astrophotography. Likewise, the wide aperture can be maximized for images with shallow depth of field.
Nine-blade Circular Diaphragm
The circular diaphragm blades provide dramatic bokeh effects that show as out-of-focus circling lights within the picture. Combine this with the minimum focusing distance of 0.28 m to capture more elements within its wide FOV.
